The Circus Comes To Town, Brazilian Drummers, Drag Acts and Disco Mums – Klondyke Hosts Summer of Lev 2016
The annual day of quite mad family (and couples, groups, random individuals, loners) fun is back again, promising to be bigger and crazier than before on Saturday 23rd of July, from 12pm.
What is Summer of Lev?
Summer of Lev has rightly gained a reputation as a wonderful community event. The organisers, chiefly local troublemaker and charitable do-gooder Jamie Whittaker and his many accomplices promise a day packed with entertainment for kids and grown up kids alike. In the past two years, over £5000 has been raised for charitable causes and this time around profits will be spread out into local community groups.
An almost overwhelming amount of acts on offer, with highlights including The Brazilian Drummers and a Fire Show in the main Klondyke field. There’ll also be a female drag act wielding air instruments for starters…
Throughout the day and evening guests are encouraged to bring a picnic – (ooh, pick some bits up at Levenshulme Market – on 10am – 4pm) and get their drinks at the bar and the pop-up Ale Tent.
There’ll be henna tattoos and face painting along with games and group yoga. A visit from Alice in Wonderland & friends and Fun with Olaf should keep children happy for a while!
Later on the music is going to go into uber-cool mode with musical treats from the Disco Mums and Veba (Groove Armada) and Lil Fee (The Whip) both hotly anticipated to get the party shimmying into the early hours.
