Returning for its second year, Levstock 2015 is a family friendly community picnic, based around the simple idea of sharing food, having a good time and celebrating the summer solstice.
Live music, fireworks and lovely food available on site, henna tattoos, stalls, arts and crafts, beer, juggling, games.
Activities kick off around 8pm, start your picnic from around 7.00pm. Fireworks around 10pm.
A chilled-out way to enjoy mid-summer brought to you by the Lev-Stock Co-production team with fireworks by Polygon Pyros.
Profits after costs are met will be donated to local charities. As this is an outdoor event be prepared for the weather… last year that meant plenty of suntan lotion!

Fun for all the family at Green Bank Playing Fields as part of Levy’s Food and Drink festival. Bring some food, some games and enjoy the merriment with your neighbours.
Levy Walking Tour! Come and explore the wonders and history of Levenshulme with tour guide Peter O’ Grady! Levenshulme Market and Love Levenshulme have teamed up for this special event. The guided tour will take place this coming Saturday the 11th of July and kick off at 11am. Meeting from the bustling Levy Market.
As part of the Levenshulme Contemporary Art Centre (LCAC) wider program of events, There will be a a session of games and fun with a communist flavour hosted at The Village Green this coming Saturday, lead by Piotreck Baryla. For more information join the facebook event page here
Paul Bower and Lorenza Casini (and child) facilitate an experimental ‘bike’ tour of the A6 and surrounding areas of Levenshulme
Here is a breakdown of the event, brought to you as part of the Levenshulme Contemporary Arts Centre (LCAC) wider program of events
We’ll be taking an imaginary bicycle ride (in other words a walking tour but with a difference) along a section of Stockport Road or ‘the A6’, through Levenshulme to imagine, speculate and discuss what an A6 kind and open to cyclists of all ages and abilities could be like.
So many of us want to have a viable transport alternative that is fun, cheap, social and good for the environment. Only we already do, it’s called the bicycle! But feeling safe and protected whilst cycling on our roads, still feels like a distant reality for most in the UK and Levenshulme is no different here. But this shouldn’t stop us thinking, imagining and dreaming about making it a closer reality.
What would the A6 feel and look like if road space was redistributed more sensibly to other, more vulnerable road users such as cyclists? Where and how could we accommodate segregated cycling lanes? Where would we need cycle parking to make it convenient to use the High Street without a car? How could we safely join and cross the A6 on our bikes by ourselves or with our kids? How would the character and feel of our High Street change if we were to give more space to cycling?
Join us on Saturday 18th July at 10am if you would like to contribute and participate in this conversation. We will be meeting and starting at the exit on Crayfield Road of the Fallowfield Loop (near the Quadrants orchard) and take a walk, for approximately one hour, along Stockport Road ending at Levenshulme Market. We will bring simple tools and props that will enable us to quickly draw, test and reimagine a different A6, spark ideas and hopefully healthy debates. We aim to gather all the ideas and suggestions in a small manifesto for our Levenshulme stretch of Stockport Road to then involve wider stakeholders, such as our local councillors; fellow residents and businesses, in helping set a new agenda for future improvements.
Come alone; with your partners; family and friends; on foot or bring your bike too! Along with your ideas, aspirations, bugbears and all.

As part of a wider programme of events delivered by the Levenshulme Contemporary Art Centre ( LCAC) there will be a chance to explore Philosophy from the perspective of a child! It promises to be a fun and engaging workshop using words, pictures and building materials to explore the meaning and value of home. For Children of all ages. Parent/guardian supervision required. Want to explore Levenshulme on Bike? Well get on this Sustrans guided tour which will take you around some of Levy’s hidden gems and learn some excellent facts and fun stories along the way as life long resident and lead guide Jamie Whittaker shares some of his favourite places to visit along the Fallowfield Loop.
Levenshulme Language Day is an event organised to celebrate the rich linguistic and cultural diversity found in Levenshulme, Manchester, and its surrounding area. The event will be held on Saturday 24th October 2015, and activities will take place at Levenshulme Inspire, The Klondyke Club and Levenshulme Market.
Local residents, visitors, market traders and businesses are invited to participate in this event for all ages, with games for children, language taster sessions, performances, live music, international films and food, as well as the chance to explore the work of local supplementary schools and community organisations – and much more!

Roll up! Roll Up! Levenshulme Market returns for it’s quarterly evening special, this time with a spooky Autumnal vibe.Celebrating Halloween with an extra-special night market party, on Friday 4pm to 9pm – promising delicious street food, live music, costume and pumpkin carving competitions. Levenshulme band Cosmic Ray and the Constellations will be performing their own toe-tapping, swinging brand of ghostly rockabilly to get everyone dancing,
Fancy dress is most definitely encouraged, as prizes will be awarded for the best Halloween
costumes. There’s a £20 market voucher up for grabs for adult revellers, and a newly launched
‘Lovely Levy Colouring Book’ from local artist Paul Magrs as the children’s prize.
There’s also a
pumpkin carving competition, where market-goers can bring along their expertly carved squashes to win another £20 market voucher prize.
