Photo Exhibition, Pimm’s, Pizza and Dr Butler’s Hatstand Medicine Band at Tonbridge Rd Allotments Open Day
A little gem of a place exists at the end of a quiet little
back road just off of Broom Lane. It’s called Tonbridge Road Allotments and it’s run by Tonbridge Road Allotment Society (TRAS). It’s on Tonbridge Road. Nice!
Shop and Community Plot
Through the big set of gates you’l find a shop open to the public on Sundays between 11 – 12pm and a community plot which is led by Abbie Kempson and is always looking for helpers to make it more beautiful( with the bonus of being able to share the produce)!
Art Gallery on Site
Within the community plot there’s a rickety shed which quite often hosts exhibitions by Pool Arts. It’s aptly named The SHED Project. There’s also a clay pizza oven on site….
As part of the Tonbridge Road Allotment Open Day, there’ll be a photo exhibition of allotment features for all to view.
Food and Entertainment
All are welcome to come down to the community plot at Tonbridge Rd Allotments on Saturday the 13th for pizzas, Pimm’s and live music from Dr Butler’s Hatstand Medicine Band.
There’ll also be children’s activities, tea and cake and a wide selection of allotment produce for sale.
If you’ve never visited an allotment before, now is your chance with a number of plots open for viewing and hourly tours taking place.
All this at the end of quiet little back street of Levenshulme.
