The Market

From March through to December each year, Levenshulme is home to a truly unique weekly destination market. Situated in the centre of the High Street, the organisers continually encourage new, diverse and exciting trade to the area and work tirelessly as a social enterprise to continue regeneration efforts and support business growth in our neighbourhood.

Each week, Levenshulme station car park area is transformed into a hive of market activity. It becomes a meeting spot, a place to source unusual food and drink, gifts and essentials, luxuries and staples, entertainment and community information.

Improving the High Street

Over 50 weekly traders choose to come to Levenshulme, having faith that the community and visitors from further afield will support them, putting money back into the local economy. The market generated over £140,000 in trader turnover in 2014, employing local residents as staff and investing £15,000 of 2015’s profits into new local ventures as part of its social aims. Faith seems to have worked wonders so far and has earned ‘Levy Market’ a reputation as an innovative haven in the heart of Levenshulme’s retail centre.

Over time, you will find all of the regular market traders in our directory, so be sure to contact them for any business you may have on the other 6 trading days of the week.
